Motorcyclist dies in crash with car at Cotswold Water Park

A motorcyclist has died in a crash with a car at Cotswold Water Park.

Emergency services responded to a road traffic collision between two vehicles on the B4696 at around 4.30pm this afternoon (Sunday).

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was among 999 crews who attended the incident, which happened near or at the junction with Cox’s Hill.

The tragic crash involved a silver SUV and a motorcycle, with the rider sustaining significant injuries on impact with the car.

Despite the efforts of doctors, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A large-scale forensic investigation that began at around 7.30pm will continue overnight.

The road is closed in both directions between Spine Road and Gosditch. Cox’s Hill is also closed.

The closures are expected to remain in place until early tomorrow morning (Monday, July 29).
