Live: M48 bridge delayed after ‘animals block road’

Motorists heading towards Bristol are facing delays after a group of animals blocked the M48 Severn Bridge this morning. One lane is closed on the M48 eastbound after traffic was temporarily stopped by unknown animals on the road.


The drivers were detained for around five minutes at 7.40am today (Monday, July 29). Traffic cameras show long delays over the bridge as morning commuters set off on their journey.



Traffic monitor Inirx reports: “Traffic queued and one lane closed due to animals earlier on road on M48 East before J1 A403 ( Aust ). Traffic was stopped in both directions at 07:40 for about 5 minutes, but cameras show that traffic has now moved. has been cleared, but the second lane (of two) remains closed on the eastbound side.”

Long delays
