Live updates from Leicester as police seal off key route

Police cordoned off a key route in Leicester this morning (Monday, July 29). A police tape was seen at the scene on Great Central Way between Upperton Road and Marlow Road. It has been in effect for several hours.

Leicestershire Police issued an initial statement on social media, saying: “We are currently dealing with an incident on Great Central Way, Leicester. The route is closed between Upperton Road and Marlow Road. Please find alternative routes. Updates will follow.”
