A huge hint has been given for the future of the well-known store in Nuneaton town centre

A new future awaits for a well-known shop in Nuneaton town centre. Earlier this year Katz Danceweat and Fancy Dress in Newdegate Street closed their doors for good.

Considered one of the best-known local businesses in the city, it originally started in Upper Abbey Street before moving to its home in the city centre. But Joanne Keach revealed that she had sadly suffered a stroke and was no longer able to run the shop.

It resulted in the shutters being pulled down for good and the building, 47-49 Newdegate Street, was left empty. However, an application submitted to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has left a huge clue to its future.

The application is to the Licensing Team and is for No. Newdegate Street. 47-49. It was sent by Zin Limited and is for “Pine Stores”.

Requests permission for a “new in building license” for the building. It is for the provision of late-night alcohol and soft drinks – Monday to Thursday, 7am to midnight and 7am to 2.30am on Fridays and Saturdays and 6.30am to midnight on Sundays.

The application is now being reviewed by the licensing team at City Hall. As part of this process, public consultation of the plans is organized.
