Yorkshire Met Office weather verdict for Tuesday amid storm warning

It’s set to be another hot and humid day across Yorkshire on Tuesday as the county braces for storms to arrive later in the week.

According to the Met Office, Tuesday will be a “warm and increasingly humid day” in Yorkshire, with temperatures reaching 27C.

The weather forecast for Yorkshire for Tuesday (July 30), according to the Met Office, is: “Another fine and dry day with plenty of hazy sunshine in the morning, fair weather cloud in the afternoon. Feeling hot and getting wetter, although cooler along the coasts. Maximum temperature 27C.”

The warm and sunny weather will continue until Wednesday before a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms and flooding comes into effect at midday on Thursday 1 August.

The Met Office weather forecast for Yorkshire between Wednesday (July 31) and Thursday (August 1) is: “Mostly dry on Wednesday but an increasing risk of showers on Thursday, potentially thundery. Sensation of heat and humidity. Cooler and breezy Friday with showers in the west.”

A 12-hour “danger to life” weather warning will remain in place until 11.59pm on Thursday as Yorkshire – along with much of the UK – braces for heavy and heavy downpours.

The Met Office has warned that there is a small chance of homes and businesses being flooded quickly while the yellow warning is in place. Forecasters also said that when there is flooding or lightning, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations of train and bus services.
