Strong eighth place for Brent van Doninck at Lommel

JM Racing Honda’s Brent van Doninck achieved a strong eighth place in his home Grand Prix of Lommel. Van Doninck managed to cross the finish line in this position in the second moto. In the first moto he returned to seventeenth place after an injury at the start.

On Saturday, things didn’t go perfectly for van Doninck at the start. He had some difficulties with the track, but that got better and better as the day went on. However, he suffered a setback at the start of qualifying, crashing and having to come back to the front from last place. Van Doninck managed to get an eighteenth place out of it. He was happy with his speed and was looking forward to Sunday’s race.

He started motivated in the first moto but, unfortunately, collided with another rider at the start, which resulted in an accident. Van Doninck hit his head and came back into the race with a big deficit. He did not give up and returned to fourteenth place during the race.

In the second moto, he had no problems at the start. However, he had to work hard as he had to move up from fifteenth place. He managed to continue to the final stages and managed to take an eighth place.

With these results, van Doninck finished twelfth overall.

Maximilian Werner managed to finish eleventh in the EMX250 class. In the first moto he went well for the first fifteen minutes, but then he changed lines and lost a few places. Exhausted, he crossed the finish line in ninth place. He added a twelfth place finish in the second moto, which gave him an eleventh place finish for the day.

It was a setback for Delvintor Alfarizi as he dealt with a mechanical problem during the first moto of the MX2 class which forced him to retire from the race.

In the second moto he couldn’t get into the rhythm and struggled with pumped arms. Because this got worse as the race went on, he was unable to drive normally. Because of this he decided to withdraw from the race.

The team now has the weekend off and will then travel to Uddevalla in Sweden for the next round of the World Championship.
