Coronation Street star Sam Aston and wife Briony Gardner welcome new baby and share gorgeous name

Sam Aston was inundated with messages of support when he revealed his wife had given birth.

The TV star is famous for playing Chesney Brown in Coronation Street. Away from the screen, he is happily married to Briony Gardner.

The 30-year-old took to Instagram today to reveal that Briony has given birth to her third child. He said: “Welcome to the world… Hazel Marie Aston. 07.05.24. 8lbs 15oz.”

Fans took to the comments to congratulate the couple on the happy family news. Victoria said: “Congrats everyone xx she’s absolutely gorgeous cx”

Sharon added: “I send you all massive congratulations.” Stevie posted: “Just amazing!!! Congratulations everyone. Pure love and happiness.”

Wendy posted: “Congratulations.”

Last year, Briony revealed she had suffered two miscarriages since the birth of her second child. She said on Instagram: “It’s a difficult thing to share, but in the interest of breaking the taboo, miscarrying again, second time in four months.

“It’s heartbreaking and unfair BUT I’m not looking for sympathy, I feel well supported and I want others to feel supported too.” Sam and Briony appeared on Loose Women in August as they wanted to share their story as a way to help others. Briony said: “It helped me enormously, knowing I wasn’t alone.”

Sam stepped in to offer support as Briony broke down in tears while discussing the loss. He said: “In a way, I can’t really understand, it’s not my body.” He added: “I feel proud that he was able to put it out there because it opened up a conversation.”
