Inside the £250,000 Kings Heath cannabis plant as police shut down the illegal operation

Police have busted a £250,000 cannabis plant in Birmingham. More than 250 plants have been discovered at a property in Kings Heath.

Brandwood neighborhood officers and neighboring teams launched the warrant on Woodthorpe Road yesterday, Monday 29 July. Pictures from inside the property show plants in various stages of growth.

No arrests have been made. Police inquiries are ongoing.

Taking to X, ex-Twitter, Brandwood Police posted: “Our Brandwood Borough Officers along with our neighboring teams served a drugs warrant on Woodthorpe Road. Officers seized more than 250 cannabis plants. Not a bad day for the boys with #bluedrugs. “

West Midlands Police said cannabis factories are dangerous places, normally converted from ordinary houses. Often, the electricity meter has been bypassed and overloaded electrical circuits run close to water-filled pipes.

All cannabis plants are burned at a “waste to energy” plant. This is overseen by a police officer to ensure that the cannabis never returns to the streets.
