Nottingham Forest are still expected to offload a £4million player who fell out with Steve Cooper

Nottingham Forest are busy reshaping their squad for the 2024/25 campaign and have so far added five players to their squad.

Marko Stamenic signed for the club but then joined Olympiacos on a season-long loan deal.

After he checked in, four more arrivals came for Forest in the form of Eric da Silva Moreira, Elliot Anderson, Carlos Miguel and Nikola Milenkovic.

With more players being sought after in the transfer market, it will be a requirement for one or two of the current crop to leave.

Lewis O’Brien looks set to leave the club to join LA Galaxy on loan until December – and others will have to follow.

Nottingham Forest defender still likely to leave

Having played quite a bit during pre-season, it would be easy to believe that Nuno Espirito Santo has found a place in his squad for Joe Worrall.

However, that does not appear to be the case and The Athletic claim he is likely to leave the City Ground this summer.

The club captain has not played in the Premier League since Boxing Day when he came on in the last minute of a 3-1 win over Newcastle.

He spent the final months of the season on loan with Besiktas and helped them to the Turkish Cup at the end of the campaign.

However, a permanent move there does not appear to be on the cards – while a move to Sheffield United appears to have cooled.

Forest would like to sell Worrall for a fee of around £4m and it is claimed the club are still looking to sell him this summer.

Worrall on loan at Forest

In the Championship, Worrall was one of the stars at the City Ground and was instrumental as the club won promotion.

However, last season Worrall had a falling out with Steve Cooper and that seemed to set the tone for his season.

He hasn’t featured much on Trentside since those reports came out and now it looks like he’s on loan.

Forest have Milenkovic to compete with Willy Boly, Murillo and Andrew Omobamidele at centre-back and that makes Worrall quite the surplus.

Finding a club should have been easier than it actually turns out for Forest, but it looks very likely that there will be plenty of interest from the Championship as the window draws to a close.

Worrall made 226 appearances for Forest but the Hucknall-born player appears to have played his last for Garibaldi.
