Leeds United plan to sign two more players before deadline day

Leeds United plan to add two more signings if no one else leaves before next month’s deadline day, according to The Athletic.

Leeds United have been one of the most entertaining clubs to watch in the summer window once again this year.

The Whites have seen several key players leave and even more linked with a move after failing to win promotion last season.

Daniel Farke’s side paid the price after being beaten by Southampton at Wembley in the play-off final and have since seen more players leave.

With four weeks left in the summer transfer window, there could be more to come. However, the latest report suggests that Leeds United are looking to sign two more players, provided no one else leaves.

They are looking to add cover in central midfield and full-back in the coming month.

Who is this?

THE QUIZ STARTS!

Rational plans

Leeds United have already been linked with players who could cover these areas.

Norwich City’s Gabriel Sara has previously been linked and more recently the Whites are said to be interested in Birmingham City prospect Jordan James, who scored eight goals in the second tier last season for the relegated Blues.

But the likes of Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville are still being linked with big moves away from Elland Road, and if they materialize then Leeds United should react and bring in further reinforcements in forward areas as well.

Next season

The Championship is always a competitive division, and there’s usually not much to separate the movers and the misses.

However, this year the competition is arguably weaker than last year and that could open the door for Leeds United to go one step further and get over the line this time.

Farke is the ideal man to have in the dugout as they chase promotion to the Championship, but his side’s chances may rest heavily on the business they do in the remainder of the transfer window.

They are again a team to watch in the second leg this year and if they start well then they might not be caught by the Whites this year.
