The busy section of Newquay beach has been cordoned off after the cliff collapse

A SECTION of a busy Newquay beach has been cut off after a rock collapsed.

Cornwall Council has installed fencing on Great Western Beach to keep people away from the area.

Inspections are carried out to ensure the beach remains safe for beachgoers.

A council spokesman said: “A cordon remains on a section of Great Western Beach following a rock fall.

“Our team is actively monitoring the site and working with partners to ensure the area remains safe for beachgoers.

“If you visit the beach, please stay away from the safety barrier we have put up.”
