Fears raised, part of Mid Cornwall Metro scheme scrapped

Louis Gardner, Cornwall Council’s portfolio holder for the economy, said the Mid Cornwall Metro had not been scrapped “as far as we know” because money for the scheme came from the Leveling Up Fund. He said Cornwall Council would know within the next 24 hours the full extent of what the future holds for the Mid Cornwall Metro project, which will see more frequent trains along the route between Newquay, St Austell, Truro and Falmouth/Penryn .
