Video: The sportiest Royal Enfield yet!

Earlier this month, Royal Enfield launched its new Guerrilla 450 roadster to an international audience in Barcelona, ahead of its local launch in September. I took the long drive to see what all the fuss was about. Watch our video review below.

The Guerrilla 450 is the second model to be built on Royal Enfield’s ‘Sherpa’ platform, powered by a 452cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that generates 29kW and 40Nm, and a ride-by-wire transmission and a six-speed transmission.

The Guerrilla 450 roadster has been built alongside the Himalayan 450 adventure bike, and although it’s powered by the same engine, it promises a different riding experience, focused exclusively on the road.

While pricing has yet to be locked in, INFO MOTO expects the Guerrilla to be priced similarly to its Himalayan stablemate as well as its rival Triumph Speed 400, both of which currently retail from $8990 .

The Guerrilla features 17-inch cast wheels, an 11-liter fuel tank, a stepped bench seat, and “straight-up” forks that offer 140mm of travel at the front.

Like the Himalaya, the Guerrilla has a TFT dash, LED lighting and a ‘Tripper’ navigation system.

Royal Enfield plans to launch at least one new model per quarter for the next two years, which is expected to include another model built on the Sherpa 450 platform. Rumors also point to a 650 Scrambler model known as The Bear, as and a production version of the recently revealed HIM-E electric adventure bike.
