The Reds are now ‘extremely determined’ to sign £25m worth of talent

Liverpool are said to be “extremely determined” to complete a deal for the £25million winger. Reds are constantly tied up now.

Turkey’s Fotomac claims Liverpool appear “extremely determined” to sign Baris Yilmaz from Galatasaray. Not that it’s an easy deal to do.

Yilmaz has left the decision entirely up to his club, who are reluctant to part with one of their biggest talents. They are thought to be asking for more than £30m to sell the winger – but Liverpool are looking at £25m.

This could also manifest as an offer. The report suggests that Liverpool will bid that amount soon as they try to seal a deal for Yilmaz.

This is far from the first report of Liverpool’s interest either. Ankara’s president says he has heard of it – his club will earn a share of the fee after selling Yilmaz to Galatasaray.

Yilmaz has also been in England recently, fanning the flames of transfer rumours. And German journalist Christian Falk made it clear this week that Liverpool probably have a clear path to the player if they really want him.

Liverpool and Baris Yilmaz

Liverpool are in an interesting position when it comes to extremes. They have plenty – but few feel trustworthy. Mohamed Salah is, of course, but both Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo were wrong.

That led to connections with the likes of Anthony Gordon. Yilmaz, though, would be a little different – he plays on the right and Liverpool have no cover for Salah.

The club can probably justify signing Yilmaz then and especially for a £25m fee. He enjoyed a successful campaign at Galatasaray and impressed at the Euros with Turkey. He’s a player on the rise, in other words, and could have a long-term place in Liverpool’s squad.

Finding cover for Salah – and potentially a long-term replacement – is the easiest way to boost the attack this summer. Yilmaz could be the answer.
