Sheffield Road closed for the ‘rest of the day’ as fire crews battle the blaze

A road in Sheffield is expected to remain closed for the rest of the day after five fire engines were sent to tackle an industrial fire.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were called to the fire on Warren Street, near Attercliffe Road, at 3am on Tuesday morning (July 30). The road was blocked and five fire engines were sent to control the blaze, which involved a large amount of household waste.

Firefighters urged the public to avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed due to the smoke. Images shared online showed the waste recycling site on fire with black smoke billowing into the sky as firefighters battled the blaze.
