Leicester: Homicide investigation launched after body found in house

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman’s body was found in a house in Leicester.

Detectives said the woman was found at a property on Bolsover Street just after 8.05pm BST on Monday.

Leicestershire Police said a cordon remains in place at the house while officers carry out their enquiries.

A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody being questioned by detectives.

Det Ch Insp Mark Sinski, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), said: “House to house inquiries and a CCTV trawl are being carried out in the area and if anyone has any footage or information that could help, they are asked to get in touch.

“We understand that the incident may have caused some alarm in the community and we would like to reassure you that this is an isolated incident.”
