A drug dealer has threatened a man with a gun in the middle of a Cornish town

A drug dealer threatened a man with a gun in the middle of a Cornish town in the middle of the day. Jack Cejas was spotted by a motorist in Camborne town center with another hooded man when he pulled the gun, a Glock pistol, from the man’s bag and pointed it at a third man on the street.

Appearing before Truro Crown Court for sentencing, it was heard how the worried driver called 999 and armed police rushed to the scene and Cejas was arrested at a level crossing.

The black handgun was later found in his bag and was tested to see if it had a lethal capability. Cejas, 25, of Carbis Bay, near St Ives, admitted possessing a firearm and ammunition as well as drug dealing on the day in November last year. He said he found him and kept him for his protection as a drug dealer selling Class A drugs.

Judge Simon Carr said Cejas was street dealing Class A drugs and had a firearm capable of causing death or serious injury which he discharged at the man in the street. He said Cejas found the gun and kept it for his own defense when he sold drugs, but did not realize the weapon’s lethal potential.

Judge Carr sentenced Cejas to five years in prison on the gun charge, three and a half years on the drug trafficking charge and 18 months on the ammunition charge, to run concurrently.
