Metropolitan Police officer accused of sexual assault

An officer in the service of the Metropolitan Police has been accused of sexual assault.

Pc Christopher Gudgeon, who is attached to the South Central Base Command Unit, was charged by postal order on July 9, the force said.

It was followed by a report of sexual assault that allegedly occurred while the officer was off duty.

The Metropolitan Police said the Professional Standards Directorate is aware and that Gudgeon currently has limited duties.

He will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on July 31.
