Bisig to Alliant, ex MP Bell to TDCI Fire Post

Alliant Insurance Services, a US distributor of insurance products, has named Sean Bisig vice president and producer in its employee benefits group. He will continue to be based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Bisig spent 18 years at UnitedHealth Group and most recently served as vice president at NFP Insurance, an Aon company, and Progyny, a benefits firm. He will oversee Alliant’s customer benefits products and services, the California-headquartered company said in a news release.

Next door in Tennessee, the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance has named state lawmaker Mike Bell as assistant fire protection commissioner, a department that includes the state fire marshal’s office, TDCI said this week.

Bell spent 16 years in the Tennessee General Assembly, first as a state representative and then as a senator. In 2022, he was appointed policy advisor and legislative director for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. He is also a member of the Claxton Community Volunteer Emergency Services team and is a certified first responder.

“While we interviewed numerous qualified candidates for this crucial leadership role, Mike’s proven track record in successfully solving complex assignments across a wide range of government and consumer areas made him the best choice,” said Commissioner Tennessee Insurance Commissioner Carter Lawrence said in a statement.

Bell’s first day on the job will be August 19.
