Travis Scott was arrested in Paris after fighting at a 5-star hotel

Rapper Travis Scott was arrested Friday morning after an altercation with a security guard at a luxury hotel in Paris, according to French authorities.

The Paris prosecutor’s office said police were called to the five-star Georges V hotel, according to French news agency AFP.

The Georges V is managed by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and costs $2,500 or more for a night in the cheapest room.

Prosecutors told AFP that police arrested Scott on charges of “violence against a security guard”.

The guard was said to have intervened to separate Scott from his own bodyguard.

The hotel did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

Scott was in Paris for the Olympics. He was spotted on the court Thursday for the men’s basketball semifinal, where Team USA defeated Serbia.

It’s far from Scott’s only run-in with law enforcement.

The rapper was arrested in Miami Beach in June this year on charges of trespassing and disorderly intoxication. The disorderly intoxication charge was later dropped.

In 2021, Scott’s performance at the Astroworld Festival in Texas was the scene of a crowd crush that left 10 dead and hundreds injured.

Although a Texas grand jury declined to indict Scott, he could be held liable in civil litigation.

Scott has been nominated for 10 Grammy Awards. He is also well known for his previous relationship with Kylie Jenner, with whom he has two children.

A representative for Scott did not immediately respond to a request for comment from BI.
