New York, Mid-Atlantic States Tornado Watch as Debby Remnants moves north

A tornado threat is expected today from the Mid-Atlantic states northward into eastern New York, according to the National Weather Service.

The risk for a few tornadoes will likely focus initially over the Mid-Atlantic states and Pennsylvania in the morning before moving north in the early afternoon.

The NWS also said that a threat of damaging winds may still develop across parts of the Northeast today and eventually affect parts of western New England by mid to late afternoon and into in the early evening, before diminishing.

The remnants of Debby will continue to move north-northeast and accelerate toward the St. Lawrence late tonight. A warm front will advance north into central New York and New England later today as a southerly maximum of 850 mb moves north, the NWS reported.
