Bridgerton star Luke Newton, relationship status and Love Island connection

Bridgerton is officially returning to Netflix with four episodes of its third season now available on the streaming platform.

Luke Newton plays Colin, the youngest Bridgerton brother, and this series focuses on his romance with Penelope Featherington, played by Derry Girls and Barbie star Nicola Coughlan.

Away from the steamy scenes, Nicola and Luke are close, and fans suspected they might be more than friends away from the cameras. However, during a recent interview with Extra at the series premiere in New York, Nicola clarified her relationship with Luke.

When asked about the dating rumours, she said: ‘We think it’s really sweet, I think we really love each other. He is a really special person in my life and I was able to do this experience with him.

“I’ll never be able to do something like this again, on this scale… It’s so nice to have such a nice friend to do all of this with.”

According to reports, Luke, 31, is single. His most recent relationship in the public domain was with Jade Davies.

The West End star, whose sister is former Love Island winner Amber Davies, was with Luke for around five years before the couple called it quits.
