Danny Rohl presents interesting Sheffield Wednesday transfer information ahead of the summer

Sheffield Wednesday are set for another huge summer rebuild, although fans will be hoping it lasts.

Every summer it seems like Sheffield Wednesday release a slew of players and then bring in another horde of free agents.

And this summer may be similar.

The Owls have a number of players set to see their contracts expire and see the end of their loan deals, meaning Danny Rohl and co simply want have hit the transfer market hard.

But the club will be hoping to avoid a repeat of this summer, where a number of key first-team players are out of contract.

That and signing players to longer term deals should be the aim for Sheffield Wednesday.

However, Rohl spoke positively about the credit market before the summer.

Danny Rohl hints at Sheffield Wednesday loans

Rohl already has an eye on the summer transfer window.

He recently spoke to The Star about his plans, revealing his hopes for Sheffield Wednesday in the loan market this summer.

They have had success with James Beadle, who the Owls are keen to re-sign on loan from Brighton, while Ike Ugbo and Ian Poveda have also impressed on loan.

Rohl said: “When you got here and you got feedback from players, agents and other clubs, it wasn’t always easy.

“But now you’re seeing more and more people recognizing what we’re doing and how we can improve young players and give them a platform for the next step. It could be a key moment for us in the summer.

“Clubs in the Premier League could see that they have some good young players and that players can improve very well at our club. I think we should use that.”

The loan problem now facing Sheffield Wednesday and Danny Rohl

There is no doubt that Rohl is right in what he says.

Sheffield Wednesday are now an attractive team for the likes of Brighton to send youngsters like Beadle to.

But the problem may be that teams like Brighton and others don’t know how Sheffield Wednesday will do next season.

The Owls have a first team to rebuild and what resources Rohl will have remains to be seen.

So teams could wait to see how Sheffield Wednesday improve and prepare for next season before loaning them players for the 2024/25 campaign.

That could mean Championship rivals with established first-team sides beating the Owls to names like Beadle and any other targets.

Sheffield Wednesday need to make a statement this summer and get into the market quickly so they can land these top youngsters for next season.
