Country superstar signs for first Las Vegas Strip residency

Las Vegas has undoubtedly become one of the centers of the music world.

Once known for nostalgia and schmaltz, Sin City is now home to some of the biggest shows in the world.

U2 did a lengthy residency at the new Las Vegas Sphere, which was followed by brief residencies by Phish and Dead & Co, and the Eagles head to that ground-breaking venue in the fall. They join other huge names appearing in residencies across the Strip.

The Las Vegas Strip goes country

A number of huge country stars have held residencies on the Las Vegas Strip. Carrie Underwood’s “Reflections” residency has become one of the signature shows at Resorts World Las Vegas.

Miranda Lambert wrapped up her show, “Miranda Lambert: Velvet Rodeo The Las Vegas Residency” at Planet Hollywood’s Bakt Theater in April. But Caesars Entertainment (CZR) which owns Planet Hollywood, still hosts perhaps the greatest country act of all time, Garth Brooks, who performs at the Coliseum.

Now, those huge names are being joined by another big-name performer who has already made a big bet on the Las Vegas Strip: Blake Shelton.

The singer, who opened his bar Ole Red on the Las Vegas Strip at Caesars’ Horseshoe Resort Casino, will now play a residency at The Colosseum.

“The country superstar has booked a string of shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, spanning Valentine’s Day and the first two weeks of February. The country star, 48, will headline six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace beginning February 5. -15, 2025,” the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Titled “Blake Shelton: Live in Las Vegas,” the shows will go on sale to the public on August 16 at 10:00 a.m. PT.

Blake Shelton bets on the Las Vegas Strip

Ole Red has a handful of locations, including two in Nashville, one in Orlando, Fla. and one in Gatlinburg, Tenn. The Las Vegas version raises the stakes.

“There’s nothing like it in Las Vegas,” Blake told Ole Red’s website. “For the country music family, the industry, Nashville, to have a base now in Las Vegas is obviously a big deal to me, and I’m going to brag about it.”

Ole Red is designed for surprise performances by big stars and aims to bring some of Nashville’s rising stars to the Las Vegas Strip.

“Have you ever been part of someone’s big bodyguard? It happens all the time here at Ole Red, where the hottest new talent comes to hone their chops,” the company says on its website. “Each month we spotlight some of our top talent and you can hear them here first and see them live in person at Ole Red.”
