Flight data and voice from Brazil plane crash retrieved in probe

Voice and flight data tapes from a plane that crashed in Brazil have been retrieved with “100 percent success,” a government aviation official said, as investigators look into the cause of a crash that killed all on board .

A preliminary report will be published within 30 days, Marcelo Moreno, Brigadier-in-Chief of the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center, told reporters on Sunday.

VoePass Airlines, which operates a small fleet of planes made by ATR, said the flight was traveling from Parana state to Sao Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport on Friday when it crashed in a residential area, killing 58 passengers and four crew members. the crew.

French and Canadian investigative authorities and an ATR joint venture between Airbus SE and Italy’s Leonardo SpA have joined the investigation, Moreno said.

The next phase of the investigation will look at the plane’s two engines to assess whether they lost power.

Videos posted on social media Friday afternoon showed the plane suddenly falling from the sky, spiraling as it fell.
