Birmingham mum ‘shocked’ after winning Betfred’s huge £50,000 jackpot from £1 bet

A Birmingham mum was left ‘in shock’ after winning a huge £50,000 jackpot from a £1 bet on Betfred. The 30-year-old – who has never been abroad – is the fastest winner in Betfred’s history, according to the company.

She placed her £1 bet on the company’s 49 game three minutes after signing up with the bookie online. Four hours later, her life was transformed when it was confirmed that she had won the massive sum.

The former clothing store assistant chose the numbers 3,6,11, 17 and 47 based on family birthdays, along with her smitten partner’s lucky number. She said she will use her winnings to get her first passport before going to Spain for a family holiday.

The unnamed mother said she can also afford to get married and hopes to put down a deposit on a new home. “I’m in a state of shock,” she said.

“To win so quickly is fantastic. I can’t really believe what’s happened. We couldn’t afford to get married but now we can and we’ve never been abroad. Well that duck is over now and we can afford a deposit on a nice family home.

“A friend of mine I’ve known since school told me about Betfred so I thought I’d give it a try. They enjoy a treat from my earnings. They always say luck comes to those who wait.”
