Greater Manchester Police update after huge brawl breaks out before car ‘driven towards people’

Two men who were arrested after a huge street brawl broke out in Wythenshawe have been released on bail, police have confirmed.

Four men in total have been arrested since violent scenes escalated on Floatshall Road on Sunday afternoon (May 12). The clash involved about 10 men, some of whom had weapons, police said.

Five were injured in the chaotic scenes. Video footage of the incident showed a vehicle surrounded by a group who continued to attack those inside, with the windshield smashed during the conflict.

The same vehicle was then driven to a group sitting on a grass verge before speeding off. Two men – aged 25 and 31 – were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

They have been released on bail, police revealed yesterday. Two other suspects – another aged 25 and 27 – were then arrested on suspicion of wounding.

In an update today (May 15), a Greater Manchester Police spokesman said they have now been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Inquiries are ongoing and detectives are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward. In particular, they are looking for any relevant doorbell, dash cam, CCTV or mobile phone records.
