Leeds United striker Joel Piroe is considering a possible summer sale to the 49ers if the Whites are promoted, with Southampton’s Che Adams the replacement in mind.

Leeds need a win against Norwich City tomorrow night to book a place at Wembley, where they would sit a game away from promotion to the Premier League.

Jordan Miles is bound to have a very busy summer as head of recruiting regardless of division, but plans may already be in place for the top class.

Leeds are reportedly planning to sell Joel Piroe if he is promoted

TEAMtalk claim Leeds are plotting to strengthen their forward department if they return to the Premier League, and that would have dire consequences for Joel Piroe.

Signed in the 49ers’ first transfer window at the helm from Swansea City for £10.5 millionPiroe is tipped to be one of the players Leeds would let go in the summer if that happens.

It was recently claimed that Leeds owe Swansea up to £3m in performance-related bonuses if they win at Wembley on May 26, relegating them from the Championship at the first time of asking.

Who will win the playoffs?

Joel Piroe’s replacement lined up in Southampton’s Che Adams

From one Russell Martin favorite to another, Leeds are believed to be after Southampton’s Che Adams as Piroe’s replacement.

Adams, 27, is out of contract this summer and if Leeds are heading for the top flight it would be at the expense of Saints, who are in the other play-off semi-final this week.

Wolves and Everton are also looking at the former Sheffield United and Birmingham City man, who will be free to leave St Mary’s for nothing in a few weeks.

Piroe did not have a resounding transfer success at Leeds

As much as he has 13 goals and three assists, many of which are very important goals in our promotion race, nobody can really say that Piroe has been a success.

We needed a number nine in the summer and early on it looked like Farke had found his rhythm with Piroe playing deeper and having Rutter at the front of the line.

However, having a new traditional in Bamford’s side highlighted that Piroe does not have the same quality outside of his finishing to make it fully work.

There is undoubtedly quality there at Championship level, but I wouldn’t be averse to letting him go if we go up – to see him join a club that would be more suited to his strengths.
