Carnival Cruise Line shares a clear warning to passengers

Some cruise ship passengers seem to enjoy being angry: instead of enjoying their cruises, they focus on everything around them and get angry at what other people are doing.

It’s easy to do on a cruise because some people will always behave in a way that others don’t approve of. Visit any cruise ship pool and you’ll find people wearing bathing suits that might offend the sensitive.

These could be women wearing skimpy thongs and revealing tops, or men wearing Speedos who are probably not in peak physical condition.

If you want to be outraged by what others put out, it’s not hard to find examples that send you over the edge.

The same thing happens in the various restaurants on board. Cruise lines have dress codes, but on Carnival and Royal Caribbean ships these codes are rarely enforced.

It’s impossible to know how someone wearing a hat, flip-flops or shorts will affect your meal, but some cruise lines are up in arms about what other people are wearing. This is a challenge that I constantly push to cruise lines as they require dress codes to be enforced.

This is an impossible situation for Carnival or Royal Caribbean, because sending someone away from a restaurant for a dress code violation creates an angry customer.

In another situation, however, the easily offended passenger seems to ignore all warnings and place himself in a position to be offended. And Carnival brand ambassador John Heald has taken a bold stand against it.

Carnival’s Heald is trying to do the right thing

Carnival brand ambassador John Heald seems to have endless patience.

He spends most of his days answering questions online, and while he’s a beloved figure, some people just aren’t very nice.

Heald endures insults about his appearance and people who are angry over minor things beyond his control. He operates under the idea that the customer is always right, but he has to be honest that sometimes, they just aren’t.

Heald is currently sailing the Mardi Gras with his wife and daughter. He posted several videos from the ship, many of them praising the crew members.

His latest video, however, could be considered a warning, or perhaps a plea. Mostly, Heald tries to prevent passengers from putting themselves in a situation where they will be upset and offended.

It’s a warning that probably won’t be heeded, but Heald did his best to deliver it.

Carnival warns passengers to leave

Heald’s most recent video, posted on August 16, showed the exterior and interior of the Punchliner Comedy Club.

“It’s 7am here so Punchliner’s Comedy Club is empty,” he wrote. “I came here to do one of the videos that I did before and I don’t apologize for doing that because it’s very important to do.”

Heald went on to explain why he visited the comedy club.

“Because every week, every week, in the hundreds of questions I answer, I always have someone who writes in and is not happy with the material that comedians are using,” he said “They don’t like the fact that a show rated R. is rated R.”

Carnival makes it pretty clear on its daily schedule, Fun Times, that the shows are 18+ and will have R-rated material. Heald said he understands and respects that not all shows are for everyone, but he also expressed a certain frustration.

“The only thing that drives me crazy, and it’s not about me, is on behalf of my friends, the comedians… and I mean, if you think you’re going to be offended, if you’re not 100 years old. “You’re sure to enjoy the show, don’t sit in the front row,” he said.

Instead, he offered some advice.

“You sit in the back by the door, and then if you’re not happy, you can go and find something that makes you happy,” he added.
