Trio of family shows head to the theater next month after the children’s half-term

Three children’s shows are heading to The Fire Station in Sunderland over the next month.

Shows for all the family will arrive at the Wearside venue over the next few weeks, just in time for the school term.

The Three Bears, a musical version of the classic fairy tale, will be heading to the Fire Station on Monday, May 27.

This will be followed by the Science Museum’s live performance and then the ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ performance.

Tamsin Austin, Venue Manager at The Fire Station, said: “Being a family-friendly venue is vitally important to us and we are ready to warmly welcome these three special shows. Although very different, they all offer unique theater experiences – from the boisterous energy of the Three Bears to thrilling science experiments to an award-winning children’s classic.

“Performances like this can often be a young person’s first theater experience and we take this responsibility seriously, creating a friendly and welcoming environment for young people and their families.”

The Three Bears, originally created for the North Stage, sees a mother, father and bear cub deep in the woods as they try to find interesting objects to reuse in their home.

The curtain will rise at 11:00 and 13:30 on May 27.

On the following day, live science experiments will amaze the children with the live show of the Science Museum.

And in June the tiger will come to Sunderland for tea with the show, based on the book by Judith Kerr.

It will air on Tuesday, June 11 and Wednesday, June 12.

Tickets are available online on the Fire Department website.
