Armed police raid house after reports of ‘man making threats with a gun’

Armed police raided a home after responding to reports of “a man making threats with a gun.” Police said a suspect was taken into custody.

Warwickshire Police said they rushed to a house off Birmingham Road in Water Orton just after midday today, Monday 6 May. A 52-year-old man, from Water Orton, was arrested on suspicion of threatening to kill and possessing an offensive weapon. He is in custody.




Police inquiries are ongoing. The force said there was no wider risk to the public and no one was injured.

In a statement, Warwickshire Police posted: “Just after midday on May 6, police were called to a report of a man with a bladed weapon making threats to another member of the public in a house off Birmingham Road, Water Orton. Officers from the firearms team arrived at the scene of the alleged incident, entered the address, and later located the alleged suspect and made the arrest.

“We can confirm there is no wider risk to the public and no one was injured. Following this, a 52-year-old man from Water Orton was arrested on suspicion of threatening to kill and possessing an offensive weapon. He remains in custody at this time.”
