Teenager found in hospital after Kings Norton incident as police launch investigation

West Midlands Police have launched an investigation after finding a teenager injured in hospital following an incident in Kings Norton this afternoon, May 15. The 17-year-old was taken to hospital with a hand injury, the force confirmed.

Roads were closed and buses diverted from the area between Primrose Hill and Masshouse Lane in Kings Norton this afternoon. A resident told BirminghamLive that police swarmed the residential area just after 3pm on Wednesday and there were “dozens of police cars with dog units”.




The eyewitness described “dozens” of police cars on Masshouse Lane. Roads were closed and National Express West Midlands diverted its 45 service from the scene.

Police confirmed there was “no one present” at the scene when they first arrived. Police detained two scenes while a search was carried out and a teenager was later found in hospital.

The roads have since reopened and the police investigation is ongoing. A West Midlands Police spokesman told BirminghamLive: “We responded after a teenager was injured on Facet Road just before 2pm. On arrival, no one was present, but we found a 17-year-old boy in the hospital with an injury to his hand. .

“There was a potential scene on Primrose Hill on the canal bridge which took place while a search was being carried out and has since been reopened. Our inquiries are continuing.”
