Dates confirmed for Stratford’s popular Christmas market – but the Victorian theme has been dropped

The weather may have finally warmed up for summer, but plans have already been revealed for Stratford-upon-Avon’s Christmas markets. But huge changes are coming for 2024 as the popular event will no longer have a Victorian theme.

Stratford’s Victorian Christmas Market is one of the most popular events in the Midlands and attracts thousands of visitors every year. That’s not the only change people will notice.

This year’s market will have 200 stalls and take place on a smaller footprint. Organizers LSD Promotions and the city council say this will allow Wood Street, Union Street, High Street and the Bridge Street roundabout to remain open.

While there will be entertainment, it will need to be of the “roaming” variety, and there won’t be a centralized main stage and fun fair. The LSD says changes to markets reflect feedback from residents and businesses.

A company spokesman said: “We are proud to present Stratford-upon-Avon Christmas Markets. We aim to create memorable experiences that capture the spirit of the season.”

The dates for the festive bonanza in the city center will be Saturday 7th and 14th December and Sunday 8th and 15th December. The market will be open from 10am to 8pm on Saturday and from 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
