9 pictures inside as Natalie Portman and John Krasinski’s new film takes over downtown

Fans of the film were excited about the film crews taking over part of the city centre.

On Monday, a mystery funfair appeared overnight in Exchange Flags, then on Tuesday night, Hollywood stars Natalie Portman and John Krasinski were spotted filming close to St George’s Hall in a vintage convertible sports car.

The ECHO understands the footage is part of the filming of upcoming heist film Fountain of Youth, directed by Guy Ritchie. The two actors were confirmed to star in the production, and filming took place in other locations around the world.

This afternoon camera crews returned to the town hall as a car chase was filmed outside Exchange Flags. Natalie Portman and John Krasinski weren’t there, but it looks like their stunt doubles might have been – as a very disturbing face mask could be seen inside the car and on a crew member’s hand.

Filming is ongoing until Saturday, May 18, with several locations in the city.

Liverpool Film Office said: “Please be aware that there will be road closures on Dale Street, Liverpool City Center between 4am and 11am on Saturday 18 May due to filming.”
