Train services have been canceled due to the safety inspection on Bristol Parkway

Rail services in and around Bristol have been canceled today (Wednesday 15 May) due to rail issues in Bristol. According to Great Western Railway (GWR), there has been a rail safety inspection at Bristol Parkway.

Services between Bristol Parkway and Worcester Foregate Street via Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa were disrupted throughout the day. All services were back to normal by 3.40pm.




GWR said in a post on X at 10.41am: “Due to a track safety inspection at Bristol Parkway some lines are blocked.

“Train services between Bristol Parkway and Worcester Foregate Street via Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 12pm.”

Traffic monitoring website Inrix adds: “Services are being diverted via Severn Tunnel on Great Western Railway and CrossCountry Northbound between Bristol Parkway and Gloucester due to faulty rail.”
