Another member of the Litigation, Advisory and Regulatory team, Adrian Neale, also becomes Legal Director.

Six new senior associates were also created in Bristol, while a further half a dozen people across the region became associates

New senior associates include three specialists from the City’s employment, pensions and immigration team, with Angharad Aspinall, Ruth Le Page and Sarah Wimsett being recognised.

They are joined by health and care lawyers Alison Garrett and James Williams and property expert Shellby Hodge-Payne.

This latest positive news comes after a 12-month period in which Bevan Brittan also recruited 32 new senior staff, including eight in Bristol, to meet growing demand for its services.

The promotions were welcomed by David Hobbs, partner and head of Bevan Brittan’s Bristol office, who said the news was a sign of firm-wide success as the business continues to expand into new markets and developing areas of law fast.

“Each of our successful colleagues has played a major role in our growth and in meeting the growing demand for advice on a wide range of issues,” he said.

“Based on a decade of steady growth, we keep going from strength to strength. This year’s promotions reflect both the breadth and depth of expertise and experience within our business, as well as our commitment to equality and the value we place on diversity. Following this round of promotions, 52% of our partners are women. Because we know that diversity enriches our business, we will continue to support talented people to succeed.”

David added: “This year we have also welcomed 32 senior laterals into our business, eight of them here in Bristol. This is testament to the reputation we have for the work we do and the clients we act for. Our new hires also tell us they appreciate the career development support and hybrid work environment we offer to enable them to balance their lives.”

News of the promotions comes just days after Bevan Brittan announced its latest senior hire in the fast-moving area of information and privacy law, with Vicki Bowles joining as a partner in Bristol.

The firm has also moved into new offices in Birmingham in the past 12 months to accommodate its expanding Midlands operations and has announced that its team in Leeds has grown to over 100 staff. It recorded its tenth consecutive year of revenue and profit growth in 2022/23 and maintains a positive outlook for its 2023/24 financial results.
