People wonder “is this legal” as masked figures stalk a person’s home in the promotional video

Viewers were horrified after watching a new promotional video for upcoming horror film The Strangers. The footage shows three masked figures stalking a person’s house from the back garden.

In the clip, the individuals get closer and closer to the person’s window in a way that left many people uneasy. The video comes ahead of the release of The Strangers: Chapter One on Friday, May 17.




On X, an account called DiscussingFilm uploaded the footage and wrote: “‘THE STRANGERS’ marketing is getting intense.” The “scary” footage has now been viewed more than 600,000 times.

Many people rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts. Box Office Forecast asked, “If it’s not staged… is it even legal?!”

Mona added: “This is all fun and games until someone gets dumped in a front yard and there’s nothing they can do about it.” XXviii commented: “Bold move! Powerful marketing combo. I really can’t wait to see what all the fuss is about.”

The new film stars Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez as a couple who move to America’s Pacific Northwest to start a new life. After their car breaks down, the two are forced to spend a night in an Airbnb, where they are terrorized by three masked figures throughout the night.
