Japanese stocks are up at the close; Nikkei 225 rose 0.55% Via Investing.com

Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Tokyo, it added 0.55%.

The best performers of the session were Sharp Corp (TYO: ), which rose 6.95% or 66.20 points to trade at 1,018.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Shimizu Corp. (TYO: ) added 4.72% or 43.80 points to end at 972.30 and Taisei Corp. (TYO: ) was up 3.69% or 235.00 points to trade at 6,602.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Advantest Corp. (TYO: ), which decreased 3.41% or 225.00 points to trade at 6,382.00 at the close. Lasertec Corp (TYO: ) declined 3.09% or 905.00 points to end at 28,350.00 and DeNA Co Ltd (TYO: ) declined 2.81% or 48.00 points to 1,661.00.

Advancers outnumbered decliners on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2060 to 1568, and 249 ended unchanged.

The shares of Taisei Corp. (TYO:) climbed to 5-year highs; up 3.69% or 235.00 to 6,602.00.

Crude oil for October delivery rose 0.14%, or 0.10, to $73.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodity trading, Brent crude for October delivery rose 0.12%, or 0.09, to $77.31 a barrel, while December gold futures rose 0.42 % or 10.50 to $2,527.20 per troy ounce.

USD/JPY fell 0.46% to 145.59, while EUR/JPY fell 0.37% to 161.94.

US dollar index futures fell 0.16% to 101.23.
