I will not return to Venice, Italy due to over tourism

• I visited Venice in 2022 and saw how mass tourism has a negative impact on the residents, so I will not be returning.

The reasons why tourists travel to Venice, Italy are obvious. The city known for its canals and historic architecture feels like a fairytale.

However, every year comes an influx of tourists, overcrowding the streets, causing environmental damage and higher costs of living. After visiting for myself in 2022, I saw the reasons why locals were fed up – and two years later, those issues have not been resolved.
