Halliburton confirms cyber attack on certain systems by Reuters

(Reuters) – Oilfield services firm Halliburton (NYSE: ) said on Friday that an unauthorized third party gained access to some of its systems.

The company said it became aware of the breach two days ago and launched an internal investigation and took certain systems offline to protect them.

He said he was still working to identify the possible effects of the incident.

On Thursday, the US Department of Energy said the Halliburton incident did not affect any energy services.
