Teenager ‘stabbed’ in Sutton Coldfield street ‘robbery’ near pub

A teenager was ‘attacked and stabbed’ in a street attack in Sutton Coldfield where thugs stole his mobile phone. The robbery took place on Hill Village Road, near the Funky Bear pub, which is undergoing refurbishment, in Hill Village Road in Mere Green shortly before 10am on Monday (May 13).

A report circulating on social media said a local boy was “attacked and stabbed walking past the Funky Bear”. It said five boys “late and dressed in black” beat the teenager and stabbed him “for his phone”.




West Midlands Police confirmed the incident and said the victim was a 17-year-old boy who suffered stab wounds. West Midlands Ambulance Service was not called to the incident.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed on Hill Village Road in Mere Green shortly before 10am on Monday (May 13).
