US calls for investigation into alleged denial of labor rights at Pirelli’s Mexico unit by Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States said on Friday it had asked Mexico to look into alleged worker rights violations at tire maker Pirelli’s facility in the town of Silao in Victoria, the 26th U.S. labor complaint in Mexico under a 2020 trade pact.

The request for the investigation was made in response to a petition, and the US suspended the liquidation of duties on goods from the Pirelli unit, which specializes in turning rubber into car tires, the US Trade Representative’s office said in a statement.
