Brent crude is trading at $82.64/bbl

Crude oil prices rose as much as Rs 36 to Rs 6,548 a barrel in futures trade on Wednesday as participants widened their positions on firm sight demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude for May delivery was trading up Rs 36 or 0.55% at Rs 6,548 a barrel in 7,281 lots.

Analysts said increased betting by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trading. Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude was down 0.35% at $78.29 a barrel and Brent crude was trading 0.32% higher in New York at $82.64 a barrel.
