Residents of the fish ponds were evacuated from their homes after an old grenade was found

Houses in the fish ponds were evacuated today after an old grenade was found. Avon and Somerset Police were called to Homefield Drive this morning (Monday, May 6).

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended the scene as people were evacuated as a precaution. A woman told Bristol Live that her mother was evacuated from her home at around 9.40am.




Avon and Somerset Police said: “Officers are currently at Homefield Drive in Fishponds following a report of a suspected old grenade being discovered this morning.

“A small number of properties have been evacuated as a precaution while officers await the arrival of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team – who are now on site.”
