Residents told to report any suspicious activity around cars – EALING.NEWS – The Voice of Ealing 7 towns

To help tackle car crime in Ealing, residents of the neighborhood are being advised to report any suspicious activity seen in and around their vehicles to the police.

Following a recent Safer Neighborhood Team meeting on crime in the Southfield area, attended by local residents, the police and Ealing Liberal Democrats councillors, there was an appeal for people to report what they see, which can help prioritize deployment the police.

According to the LibDems, residents often don’t report suspicious activity, such as people inspecting cars as they drive past, but the advice is not to ignore it and call 999 if an incident is in progress or 101 for other situations.

Southfield councilor Gary Busuttil said: “The Liberal Democrats met with the local policing team. Their advice is for people who notice someone looking into their car to report it to the police as soon as possible. By reporting these incidents, the police can get a picture of where such crimes are happening or will happen.”

Councilor Busuttil added: “The Liberal Democrats say the police will direct their resources to where they receive the most reports of crime or suspicious behaviour, so please report these incidents if you see them.”
