Chaucer hires Baker from AXA XL to lead the political violence squad; EagleView hires Cooke for enterprise growth

Global specialist insurer Chaucer has hired Alex Baker as a class underwriter within its crisis management and political violence team. Baker will lead growth strategy implementation and portfolio management in the US market.

Baker previously worked at AXA XL (Catlin) for 13 years, specializing in terrorism and political violence insurance.

Chaucer recently partnered with Gabriel and Merrill Herzog to launch its active attacking product in the US market. The product provides combined coverage for property damage, business interruption and civil liability as a result of incidents of an active attacker at an insured’s premises or nearby locations.

EagleView hires Cooke for enterprise growth

EagleViewbased in Rochester, New York, employed Courtney Cooke as vice president of enterprise growth.

Cooke has spent over 20 years working in the risk insurance industry with carriers and insurtech startups. EagleView said it will leverage this experience in working with carriers to address pain points with technology solutions. EagleView is a geospatial technology company.

She began her career as a specialist adjuster for the internally managed repairs program at State Farm Insurance in 2002 and joined the catastrophe response team in 2005. In 2018, Cooke transitioned to a supplier support role in the P&C industry as vice president of business development for TheBestIRS, Insurance Recruiting Specialists. In 2021, he became Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Bees360 Inc.
