Social media platform X is back after a brief hiatus, Downdetector By Reuters reports

(Reuters) – Social media platform X was restored late on Tuesday after an outage that lasted less than an hour, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.

Downdetector, which tracks outages by collecting status reports from multiple sources, including users, showed fewer than 500 reports of outages in the US as of 11:46 p.m. ET.

There were more than 36,500 reports at the peak of the outage at 11:18 PM ET.

Reports of outages in Canada and the U.K. fell to under 100, down from more than 3,300 in Canada and 1,600 in the U.K. as of 11:20 p.m. ET.

The cause of the outage is not yet known.

X did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment after normal business hours.
