The Met Office’s new 10-hour yellow warning as Coventry braces for drenching

The Met Office has issued a new ten-hour yellow rain warning as Coventry is set to drench today. The alert lists a number of areas in the region that will be hit by heavy rain.

Coventry and Warwickshire are among those listed under a yellow rain warning. It comes into effect at 1pm today and lasts until 11pm tonight (May 16).




He warns that “hheavy rain may cause flooding and transport disruption’ and could see 40 to 60mm of rain in just a few hours. The West Midlands is set to bear the brunt of heavy rain sweeping the country this afternoon.

Rain has already started to fall in parts of our region, with Nuneaton seeing showers, but heavy rain is set to hit later this afternoon.

An area of ​​heavy rain is expected to move west across parts of England and then into Wales later today,” the Met Office warns.

“Uncertainty remains as to how far north or south this band of rain will be, but there is a small chance it will move slowly across parts of the West Midlands and north-west England, as well as into Wales later late this afternoon. and early evening should happen, then in some places 40-60mm of rain could fall in 3-6 hours”.
