New footage from Jan. 6 shows Pelosi’s anger at “Domestic Enemy” Trump

“I’m sick of what he’s done to the Capitol and to the country,” Pelosi said as she drove in her SUV in the early hours of Jan. 7. “They have to pay a price for that.”

Later that day, Pelosi sat with aides in her devastated office, wearing a multicolored floral mask and discussing the “failure of leadership at the top of the Capitol Police.” By the end of the discussion, Pelosi turned her attention to Trump and took a sharper tone.

“There is an internal enemy in the White House,” she said. “And let’s not mince words about it.”

In June, footage of Alexandra Pelosi with her mother immediately after the eviction was released. Walking down the hall, Pelosi said she did not support the decision to leave and was angered by the lack of security.

“How many times have members asked, ‘Are we ready?’ Are we ready?” We are not prepared for the worst,” she said. “We are calling the national guard now? He should have been here to begin with. I just don’t get it.”

Her anger and regret only grow as she drives away from the Capitol in her SUV. An animated Pelosi pointed fingers with each new point and said she “feels responsible” for not having a more prepared National Guard.

“It’s silly that we should be in this situation. Because they thought they had what? Did they think these people were going to act civilized? Did they think these people gave a damn?”

By the end of the footage, Pelosi leans back in her chair and directs her anger beyond security leaders: “Shame on us.”
