Taiwan stocks fall at close; Taiwan was down 0.25% by Investing.com

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, it was down 0.25%.

The best performers of the session were Advanced Optoelectronic Technology Inc (TW:), which rose 10.00% or 2.35 points to trade at 25.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW: ) added 9.99% or 4.25 points to end at 46.80 and Elite Advanced Laser Corp (TW: ) was up 9.97% or 14 .50 points up to 160.00 at the end of transactions.

The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:), which declined 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 at the close. Lead data Inc (TW: ) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and The lucky cement Co (TW: ) declined 6.46% or 1.05 points to end at 15.20.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:) fell to a low; down 9.95% or 0.21 to 1.90. Shares in Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:) rose to a 52-week high; up 9.99% or 4.25 to 46.80. Shares of Elite Advanced Laser Corp ( TW: ) rose to all-time highs; up 9.97% or 14.50 to 160.00.

Crude oil for October delivery rose 0.39%, or 0.29, to $74.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodity trading, Brent crude for November delivery rose 0.30%, or 0.23, to $77.81 a barrel, while December gold futures rose 0.56 % or 14.10, to $2,551.90 per troy ounce.

USD/TWD fell 0.21% to 31.91, while TWD/CNY was unchanged 0.00% to 0.22.

US dollar index futures fell 0.15% to 100.84.
